Home > R&D > Overview Research development results concentrating in the areas of petrochemicals and fine chemicals, quality and process improvement since Aekyung Petrochemical R&D’s establishment in 1991 as an attached institute, have left the grounds on a high level of research results in high value-added Plasticizers and Itaconic acid, N-Methal pyrolydone, polyester polyol, and in order to develop the latest new material and life science technology, opened a central institute in Daejun on July of 2001, concentrating through major investments, in research development activities to enter business as the latest industry area. The method of manufacturing Itaconic acid has been industrialized for the first time in the world as a chemical reaction through this type of research activity, this high quality product being marketed domestically; contributing to the domestic chemical industry through the development of the production of N-Methylrolydone by vapor phase hydrogenation, polyol is used as the raw material of polyurethane, high value-added plasticizers, environment-friendly solvents, etc. In order to become an international chemical enterprise presenting excellent research results in the future, we will put our efforts in the maintenance of continued excellent research development manpower, enlargement and concentration of research development investments, new core technology development itself and application, etc. 2003. 12 Opened the Nursery center for new start-ups within the Daeduk Research Complex. 2001. 07 Placement of the Daejun Central Research Institute. 1999. 12 Selection as a research organ of specialized research personnel (military exception) 1994. 08 Changed the company name to the Ulsan Research Institute in Aekyung Petrochemical Co.,LTD. 1993. 01 Establishment and move to the Seperate research area. 1991. 01 Establishment notification and certification of the Samkyung Chemical Co., Ltd. attached institute. 1989. 01 Enlargement of research organization to Samkyung Chemical Co., Ltd 's research development department. 1983. 01 Departure of Samkyung Chemical Co., Ltd.’s development technology department, the organization in charge of research development.
